Altarpiece to the Unknown Saint
There are many people who give of themselves freely their whole lives, a piece at a time, or all at once. These noble soles need no hope of cannonization to prompt them on their missions. They are generous, compassionate, just, and gracious out of sheer human empathy, out of the love they have for others. These people are mothers, fathers, laborers, travelers, and many others who may not even participate in any organized religion or philosophy. These people deserve some recognition because they, more than those of great fame, represent the bulk of what is joyous in humanity.
